POTTERY HAND-BUILDING WORKSHOP

Join me for a two-hour beginner hand-building workshop on Saturday 30 April 2022, 10am – 12 noon.

This workshop is an opportunity to try out ceramics in a fun, peaceful environment, let go of daily stresses and create your own piece of unique pottery which will be glazed and fired for you to keep.

Cost is $80 per person. 

You will learn the three main hand-building techniques:

• pinch pots
• coiling

• slab-building

These techniques form the basis of endless clay vessels, and during the class you will have the opportunity to make and refine your very own pot, cup, bowl, dish or vase.

After your workshop, I will wait for your work to dry and will then fire it, glaze it in the colour you have chosen and fire it a second time. You will then be able to pick your work up from my studio in 4-8 weeks.

Working with clay is magical and the class will allow you to learn a bit about the process of making, have fun and create something lovely in a no-pressure environment.

* Workshop price is on a sliding scale – if you’d like to attend but don’t have the financial means, please reach out and I’ll make sure you can attend.

All materials and tools are provided. On the day, please bring:

• An apron or old shirt that you don’t mind getting dirty
• Warm clothes (my studio is in a big space and it gets very cold)
